Minecraft is a game that drops you into a randomly generated map and basically expects you to survive by any means possible. During the day you can cut down trees for wood, hunt animals for feathers, food and leather. By night all sorts of monsters come out such as zombies, Creepers (Exploding Zombies), Spiders and skeletons with bows. Durning the night it is best to fort up by either digging a hole in the side of a mountain or any other area, or getting somewhere they cant reach you.
Another part of this game is Mining as the name suggest. You can dig anywhere and what you dig up gives you a item square this square can be moved and placed where ever you want or you can keep it in your inventory.
Now this is where the second part of the name comes in. Crafting. Gathering Raw wood, for example, you can refine the wood into planks that can be used as a building material or to craft sticks in which you can use to craft various tools after crafting a work bench.
I.E. Creating a wood pick axe to dig up stone.
I've been addicted to this game so much I've been playing it for 4 or 5 days straight now. It's only in Alpha and the games got me hooked I couldn't imagine what it would do to me when it's completed.
Heres some stuff I built in the game.
Here I dug a pathway that leads down to a underground tower I built. Took a while to dig out the room. You'll see why.
Heres the path to said room. I added the glass and then the water to pretty it up. I like how it turned out with the waterfalls on each side.
The path leads to this underground tower I dug out the room that was filled with solid stone then built the tower. The water from the path leads up to the structure and runs down the glass. I really like how that turned out.
Heres the back of the tower which has Lava falls. The lava goes back to the wall behind the tower. runs down the back then into a little path I'm making in the ground to flow to water.
Heres the tower from above ground. It isnt very high yet. This photo is a little out dated because the wall I was building to the right now reaches the center structure and theres another tower built to the left.
And because I can. Heres my very small wheat farm.
Welp thats all I have for now. and I'm very eagerly awaiting the Halloween update thats going to fix some bugs and add new features. I can't wait.
You can grab minecraft in the website for 9.95 while it is in alpha stage and get all the updates from then on for free. I think it was well worth my money as much fun as I have had with this.
Also there is multiplayer but it isn't complete yet. A few multiplayer fixes are coming along the 31st.
TL;DR ; Minecraft Rocks.
