I just bought it today. I'm having trouble, it's laggy (I'm playing the exe version). My computer's a little old I guess. Did anyone else have trouble with that.

Might have to change the graphics from Nice to fast. Some computers can't handle the full graphics. Could be you just don't have enough Video card memory or Ram. if you want to keep the prettiest graphics you can also change the view fog. I play on Far/Fast graphics. If your still having problems after adjusting the video settings then I don't know.

It's pretty much my ram. It's 512mb. I can be comfortable under "near" or "tiny" fog and of course fast graphics. I just gotta hope they fix up the game to be more "low-end friendly"
I'm saving up for a netbook so that's gonna be my minecraft savior. That or get more memory, but I'm not interested because this computer doesn't get a lot of action.

I only have 504 ram. Quite literally. If your low on ram make sure you don't have a lot of things running in the background. Minecraft isn't completely refined yet and gets a little hungry sometimes.

enough system specs to run SC2 on medium without much problem. Mission accomplished...! Until I build my desktop... That will take some time...!

Correction! Just got home and checked the exact number. It's 504 mb actually. Gotta see what I can disable or w/e. I only have my firewall, antivirus, and ObjectDock. Obviously the dock's the first to go.

Yes it gets very "Nommy." lol I run Windows Messenger, Advira Anti Virus and windows fire wall when playing, but I have my PC set up where it doesn't run all that extra junk I don't need. Everything else running on my pc is what it needs to run.

Huh, it occurs to me I should maybe not run Avast, MSE, and Webroot Spysweeper all at the same time? I'd feel so exposed without them though. It was scary enough to disable Panda.

Just depends on your CPU, Ram and all that. But yeah, running all that at one can lag you pretty badly but if it doesn't effect regular browsing or games I wouldn't worry about it. If it does lag your games, if you feel so naked not having them on, Disconnect from the net and turn off all of them off. Another alternative is to turn off the ones you don't need running constantly.

Well I figured out a way so I can get more fps out of it. I switched to Linux! I installed Ubuntu on a 5GB partition and I (after an hour of trying to figure out now to install the damn Java) got Minecraft Linux version running. It runs quite a bit better.
But Ubuntu is still a little too RAM hungry so even at tiny fog it has a hiccup or two. Tomorrow I'm gonna download and replace Ubuntu with Xubuntu, which is designed for older PCs and uses less RAM. I believe I should be able to handle medium fog (which is my goal to be able to play smoothly, since that's the lowest setting you can see sky on).
If you want to look into it Adonael. Getting Xubuntu and installing it alongside Windows as a small partition (I believe lowest is 2GB) is relatively simple. Linux is kinda complicated and confusing though, but I like to say if I figured it out then anyone can.

This is my beachfront desert home. It's actually built around my spawn (I pinpointed my spawn point). Never will be in trouble again! So cool that I got a shot with the sunrise. This is a shot of the tower I made, it goes to the highest point in game and I'm making a water ladder at the moment which is what the cobblestone walls are. It has 11 floors including roof and base. It has a regular ladder atm but like I said I'll be making a water ladder. I tried a water elevator but because of the height it lags and I almost died many times on it. On the left is a old marker I made to find my way when I was a noob. I'm gonna get rid of it soon. In fact if there is a dramatic change to Minecraft in the near future I'll be switching to a new world, leaving this world behind. Weee Minecraft! (srsly I'm getting addicted to this game)
