For the most part (to me), 2010 had some really amazing releases. Number one is "On Revolute" by Dave Weiner (tee hee). Dave is better known to the world as Steve Vai's rhythm guitarist for the past 12 years, and this all instrumental album shows why. Buy it from him at www.daveweiner.comNumber two is "Static Impulse" by James LaBrie. Dream Theater's vocalist nailed his second solo album with help from Matt Guillory on keys and songwriting, Marco Sfogli on guitar, Ray Riendeau on bass, and Peter Wildoer on drums and screams. Number three is Periphery's self titled debut. Misha "Bulb" Mansoor and the gang basically started a new genre of metal called "Djent". It is a mix of Progressive, Math, Groove, and Dark Ambient all rolled into one. The best example is their single "Icarus Lives"
