A couple years ago, I was with my family, rolling around in search for garage sales. We found all kinds of cool stuff for cheap, and it was also a great way to make some cash by buying semi-valuable items for cheap and reselling them at stores. One day, we were in a garage sale and we saw those weird stilts and we asked the sale owner what they were. He said they were special jumping stilts, or as we call them here, "échasses urbaines". It was a kid's model, and I was just too tall and heavy to use them at the time, though my brother could. So he let him try them on, and he was pretty awkward on them at first, but he managed to walk around and jump a little bit. He said he loved them, but sadly they were a couple hundred bucks, which was too expensive for us.
Now, years later, I saw an anime called "The Mysterious Cities of Gold" where one of the vilains called Zares uses an exoskeleton to give him incredible strength. *SPOILER* He's actually a small, slightly overweight man behind his costume, but the suit and the exoskeleton turns him into a 7+ foot tall beast. I wanted to cosplay as Zares for Halloween, since I am myself a small (around 160 cm) slightly overweight guy, so I thought about ways I could achieve that. Then it hit me, the jumping stilts! If I was to use these, I'd boost my height up to 7 foot, exactly what I needed, and the jumping stilts would also provide me with superhuman jumping and running, although it is not effortlessly, it's actually quite the opposite.
So I got rid of my 980 Ti on my PC build and replaced it with a regular 980, that gives me 200-300$ to spare so I can buy them. I'm looking forward to it! It's said they also make you lose a lot of weight if you use them regularly, so that's a nice plus. Here is a video showing these things in actions :
