I know someone is hacking one of these Jet Moto games. A hack of Jet Moto 3 would be nice that changes the physics to be more like 1 or 2. Instead of being stuck on the wall all the time and have to press the gas in limited bursts it would be better if the game played like 1 or 2. It says on wikipedia that the game played like that originally but that one of the heads of 989 studios made them speed it up. To me it plays horribly and I don't play it cause it isn't fun at all.

I'm the one hacking JM3, and I've considered doing a full physics hack called JM3: Origins a while back, but when I started working on it, I realized it was gonna be very hard to get right. I've since worked a bit on it, but not much, and the project is nowhere close to being finished. Editing JM3's physics is a pretty easy thing to do, but very hard to get right.
To begin, each and every single one of the bikes in the game has its own physics. So basically, the bikes' stats are just physics which vary from one bike to another. Unfortunately, that means that if you want to modify JM3's physics to play more like 1 and 2, you're gonna have to edit every single bike separately, which takes a very long time. I still have the idea in the back of my mind though, but don't get your hopes up for a release any time soon.
If you want to do it on your own, the files are located in "\DATA\PHYSICS" and can be opened with notepad. Here is a list of which file represents which bike:
MODEL11 = Wild Ride MODEL12 = Spirit MODEL13 = Tetsujin MODEL21 = The Max MODEL22 = Vampeera MODEL23 = Raven MODEL31 = Bomber MODEL32 = Convict MODEL41 = Technician MODEL42 = Angel MODEL51 = Granny MODEL52 = Captain Ballard

Well, I hope you do it sometime cause I'd definatley wanna give it a try. I don't like the physics of 3. I gave it a try before but I was also stuck on walls. It was like that the first time I owned it too.

It was like that the first time I owned it too. I worked on it a bit last night, I have basic values which I can subtract/add on all riders. I'm not quite finished, but right now it seems promising.

Alright, all of the bikes are balanced (except Ballard and Granny). Do you want a 1.0 release to test it out? (yeah, I unintentionally lied in the first post, sometimes I just work on a project like that for no reason other than I feel like it)

besides physics, did you change the speed too? The speed is a big issue to me. acceleration needs to be regular too. Soon as you got that down I'd love to try a copy.

To be honest, the biggest change right now is speed. It's not so painfully slow that you regret the regular JM3, but at the same time it isn't as fast as regular JM3. It still feels like JM3, but paced down quite a bit.

Actually, I'm gonna balance this a bit more before releasing the first version.

Ok, well, I look forward to it. Don't go overboard on this. Just make it play better.

Also, I'm gonna modify some textures and add some riders which aren't in JM3.

Why are you doing that? That has nothing to do with the physics.

Why are you doing that? That has nothing to do with the physics. The thing about JM3: Origins isn't just to modify the physics, it's also to make it more similar to JM1&2. I'll probably replace some characters, for example, Raven with Gadget or something like that. Also, I want to make a reskin of Sky Park which looks like Nightmare! X)

Alright, I've balanced all the riders, replace Ballard with Enigma, Granny with Enemiga and I'm almost done with the Nightmare retexture of Sky Park!

I don't get why you want to blend JM3 and JM2 graphics. To me they wouldn't blend. Can't stop you but a straight up physics hack would of been nice. Also, sky park would have been a new experience to me, now it's just gonna be a nightmare fanedit.
