This isn't anything special, but I am slowly learning how Jet moto PC works. This just was a simple test to see if I could get the textures to swap. That means there is every possibility to mod this game the thing is just figuring all this junk out. ---------------------- The interesting thing is the riders textures are all separate for each track. Which is interesting. In today's games there's usually 1 to 2 texture files for one character utilized for the select screen and in game, but every time you load a track or the character select each one is it's own separate file. It's a disorganized mess. Now if I could onlu figure out the model compression, but considering no one has ever cracked sony's model compression that's not very likely. If we did figure that out though. It could be very possible to add your own tracks which would be interesting all on it's own.

Yeah, Jet Moto 2 also works like that for the textures of the bikes.
And what I would like the most is to put Jet Moto 2 tracks on there, it'd be really cool.

Only way that would be possible is decoding the .DMD files jet Moto 2's track models are stored in and convert them to .DPC
If they were structured similar a simple change of extensions would work, but the only thing they have in common is the fact they store .TMD files. The structure is completely different.
But if we could figure out DPC we could at least make fan made tracks.
On a side note AI wouldn't work and there might be a bug or two to sort out if we did. I swapped around some of the stock tracks to see the results. It was pretty interesting.

Nice, and if we are ever able to make fan maps, then watch me recreate JM2124's tracks xddd

Neat, JM PC modding. It'd be nice if you could make it play more like the PS1 game. It sounds like this could be the ultimate version of JM1. I can't really think of much I would add to it besides more tracks. I suppose 360 controller pad support and make turning 4 buttons.

All the rider PCX files in Jet Moto PC handle the character portraits (RIDER00.PCX which is the bomber). Actually opening and editing those files is another story all together. So my assumption that any of the PCX files handle anything with text or images such as level descriptions etc.

What we do know is that TPC files contain textures, they're actually easily editable too using TIMViewer. Although... For some reason, some of the textures seem to be off-palette, unless it's just a preview glitch with TIMViewer.
The DPC files seem to be the 3D models.

Yup I already know all that. That's all explained already. The off pallet is due to it being 16 bit rather than 32 I believe.
Editing textures and texture sizes also causes issues with the game. I've played around with a few things and if we do ever get to the point we can make our own tracks it might be best to use the textures already present in the game.

Editing textures and texture sizes also causes issues with the game. Yep, same goes for JM2, 3 and 4. When I first starting editing the textures of JM3 I tried putting high res textures in the place of already existing ones and it didn't work, the texture was all fucked both in color and in scaling. You gotta have a texture which is the same resolution and the same color depth.

temp.tmalliance.com/?num=1303914644/302#302A fellow at TMA has figured out how to open files and view levels with his own program. People are making progress and since Twisted and Jet Moto use the same file formats we might be able to do actual custom tracks.

I've been screwing around with the map textures on Marltoro's Toolkit. Sadly it seems capped to 8-bit textures so it seems we can't open them just yet.

So he's just modding twisted metal. I suppose soemone could mod twisted metal 2 to have more jet moto tracks in it.
