Part 1 of 4. So I guess I forgot to hit record on Meltdown, but every other race is here. I have the times before and after Meltdown to show it's not a different run (and I promise I didn't restart).
I'm not gonna lie, I struggled with this. Particularly Nebulous and Kamate. I broke 27 minutes in an early practice run and did not even come close to that again until I decided to give it one more go here. 26:47.1 is my final time. May have to wait until tomorrow to upload the rest.
Yeah, I'm letting you win this one. Way too much RNG for me, I haven't felt this pissed off since I tried to beat the record on Sequoia Forest. It's literally out of your control, in suicide tracks, the AI will randomly either be in your way or not and there's nothing you can do about it but cross your fucking fingers that they're not right around this corner waiting to make you crash and ruin your run.
Guess now I know why they're called suicide tracks, it's because they make you want to fucking commit suicide in any sort of competitive playthrough.
I mean, if the deadline could be extended then I could just grind until RNGsus blessed me with a good run, but I don't really find any satisfaction in winning that way, next rally I suggest we do it without AI, otherwise I don't think I'll participate, it's just not a fair challenge, whoever gets lucky wins basically.
Might be just me though, if you guys find this fun, then by all means, don't mind my stupid opinions and continue having fun!
Thanks! And yeah, having to select a new track every time you finish one sounds pretty unnecessarily long, especially since you can't restart each track individually, so you'd have to navigate through all the menus if you even fucked up your first track lol, there is a viable solution but it only works on emulators.
If you use save states to save after the loading screen has finished loading each and every track (different save state slots), then you can load them all in order and going from track to track would be instant. But that'd be discriminating against players using an actual console, which would be totally unfair for them.
Maybe I could have a look around in the game's files and try to disable the AI or something...
I agree that the AI adds a dimension of luck that makes it harder and unlikely to run a perfect race. I disagree that it's a problem. The rallys to me are supposed to be different in this way, and the racing aspect makes it more fun, in my opinion, than a time trial. Perhaps you'd mind less if you raced a harder difficulty? I just think if it's 100 percent about getting the best time with no AI, then it's not too different from the record runs. The rally glimpses how we manage the racing in addition to aiming for the fastest time.
Yeah, I suppose I should try racing at insane difficulty or something, maybe it'd be less problematic. Yeah, I think I'll give it a shot. I have to admit racing against other riders is fun, it's just that I really hate the luck factor, which is why I always turn off collision in GTA V whenever I do races!
It just really pisses me off when there's I'm stuck doing perfect run after perfect run for 2 hours only for it to be ruined every time by RNG, and then I get somewhat lucky on one run and I choke and fuck up the run because I become nervous xd
Understood. My problem was I would screw up nebulous so bad I needed almost every other race to be really fast to give myself a cushion. Even in the rally I'm posting I didn't run a good time there. I got so nervous because I did pretty well the rest of the way and I just needed to not make a lot of mistakes. Palms got pretty sweaty on that one lol.
Haha, that's funny because Nebulous and Nightmares are some of my best tracks, to me they're easier than Slickrock Gorge somehow, I guess I'm used to JM3's level design which more closely resembles Nightmare's and Nebulous' than most of the other tracks.
The whole run, I keep being like, it's okay, even if I'm not that good at these tracks, my runs for Nightmare and Nebulous will make up for it! xd And then they come on and it's a sigh of relief... Although there have been times where I've been a little too relieved and zoned out and crashed lol
