Trouble with Jet Moto 2

I've been playing this series since i was a kid. I just recently got into playing it somewhat seriously, but I have a problem. I can play Jet Moto 1 with n trouble at all. Jet Moto 2 however, i barely beat Novice (the second to easiest difficulty i believe) Season. Professional I can barely stay in third place. I know I'm being a nob but  genuinely don't know what I'm doing wrong. Even when i play tracks as best as i can, the ai always seems to be just a bit further. Any help would be appreciated

Definitely keep going. The practice will pay off. Watch some of the videos in the records thread to get an idea of how to run tracks. Start to copy what everyone is doing. That's what helped me back when I was playing serious. But to be honest, JM2 is random af and you have to learn each track individually. Like, there is no one size fits all approach.

Yeah, Jet Moto 2 is a strange one. You'll play and play over and over again, won't think you're improving at all and you don't think you're doing anything different, but then suddenly you'll realize you've come a long way since a few weeks, months or years ago. Look at me for example, I never thought I would be able to beat a record; ever. All of them seemed impossible to beat, even with an insane amount of practice, I never thought I would reach that level of skill, yet just by playing more and more, I eventually got better without noticing it and I beat a few of them.

What Osky said is the greatest advice by the way, watch the record videos, copy other people's paths and techniques, Bear's record videos helped me a great deal and I hope they, and my videos as well, will help you.

The thing about Jet Moto 2 is that the AI riders aren't actually AI. They're recordings of the developers racing through the tracks that are then played back in real-time whenever you race. You gotta learn how to ride the tracks without ever crashing if you want to succeed.

So I sat down and played Jet Moto 2 more. I finally beat Professional Full Season with a 40 lead. Is there a point to going higher?

Completing season with each character in master difficulty unlocks a track from JM1. Unless you have JM2 CE then you have every track unlocked. After that it's purely for trophy case completion. Be sure to try Insane difficulty.

Managed to beat Master with Vampeera anddddd it ends after that. Gave Insane a go with Enigma and good lord I got destroyed.

Yeah, each rider unlocks a different JM1 track when you beat the game at Master difficulty with them, they also unlock additional medals and cheats. Insane is pretty tough, and Enigma handles like crap, I'm actually better at Insane without Enigma, except on some tracks like Slickrock Gorge, which is nearly impossible to beat with a regular bike. But you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly, Enigma's acceleration and top speed are so over powered that even if you ride like a dumbass crashing into walls, you'll be able to beat the AI in very little time.

So i conquered Insane. Went back and now i'm working with getting the Jet Moto 1 tracks unlocked. Have had no problems with Gadget, Vampeera, The Hun, Steele, The Max, and Technician. But I'm a bit worried about doing Lil' Dave and Bomber.
