[...] extract [..] the track models Impossible as of now. We'd need a good programmer to figure out the file formats of JM1&2, JM3 and JM2124's tracks. I tried to get the tracks into a 3D model using a special program, but apparently, PS1 graphics are just a 2D polygon projection of the 3D models, so it's impossible to do it that way.

Like Dark Ermac said, track strategies would be cool. Kind of make our own guide towards Jet Moto and maybe a section to go over characters.

Yeah I really like that idea myself. Well, I should probably start out by saying hi lol. Long time no see fellas. Wanted to let you guys know that I'm not dead...just very busy. I've checked back in once in a while but never really have time to contribute anything of substance...or even play the damn games at all for that matter. Life just keeps refilling my glass of things to do. Hope everyone is doing well though.
But yeah anyway I like the FAQ/strategy guide idea, as time consuming as that could possibly be. I do feel like we kind of touched on this when we did our track discussion boards a long while back.
By the way, glimpsed at the records...pretty cool stuff. The jm1 normal times in particular are eyebrow raising. Seems like someones been doing some homework *cough* barrel!

BEEEEEAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!
Good to see you're not dead. Figured I would start with JM1 since it's more simple than JM2, and I can strategize on lines and turbos more easily. I'm now at the point where I've hit a bit of a wall on optimal lines. Just need perfect execution.

Hi bear, and welcome back, even if it's just for a post, lel. Barrel's destroying the competition! It's really awesome to see those records, which I thought were unbeatable. But as Barrel said, you Just need perfect execution. Which I TRIED, to be honest, but I haven't come any closer than like 5 seconds from any of JM1&2's times. The only records on the first 2 games I got to get are on the PC and CE versions, which is explained by the fact that neither you, mcniggleston or Barrel made records for the records I've beaten. I HAVE been able to get all the JM3&4 records, but I don't really consider them being that big of achievements, seeing how I have no competition for either of them. I had Emperor, The_Flex and Saint to compete against in Jet Moto 3 (and they're REALLY good, too), but it seems they all left, especially Emperor who just deleted his account and blocked me on Facebook for whatever reason. Mcniggleston also had some pretty damn hard to beat times on JM2124 (Atlantis II, Europa), but he never made another one since.

Yeah it's cool to see people going for the records. I've actually never played jm3 or of course 4 so I'm sorry if that takes away from your pride in holding those records lol. I just never really cared to get into 3. I think it was toxik who made a comment about the vibe from it, and I agree with him. It just really separates itself from the first two games in terms of style. In fact, even if I tried, I'm not sure I could get very good at it. The bike control seems a bit more hands off and inconsequential...seemingly arcade like. Kind of reminds me of the jump from Twisted Metal 2 to 3, and I didnt like 3 as much at all because of the difference in feel. As for JM2 PC and CE, I don't suspect I'll ever play PC. CE I've played a little and I like the unique challenge it brings. Maybe one day down the line I'll try to master it, but I don't like how slow it makes the regular version feel after playing it. Thats why I haven't cared to go for many records in it.

Yeah it's a simple course but you control the bike in all the right ways to minimize time. If you ever get around to JM2 I'll be very eager to see how you affect the bikes then...it becomes a bit more extensive in that game.

It just really separates itself from the first two games in terms of style. In fact, even if I tried, I'm not sure I could get very good at it. The bike control seems a bit more hands off and inconsequential...seemingly arcade like.Yep, I always felt that way about JM3 too. But once I took the time to learn from it, it became really fun. The thing with JM3 is that, as you said, there aren't any major slowdowns in your bike's speed when you hit a wall or mess up a turn. While in the first two games, it was about getting perfect runs, in JM3 it's about getting perfect paths and managing your boosts, stunting your way through the tracks. CE I've played a little [...] but I don't like how slow it makes the regular version feel after playing it. Thats why I haven't cared to go for many records in it. I felt the same way at first with CE, but I learned to appreciate both for what they are. The only real thing I don't like when going back to the original JM2 is the freaking framerate, 20fps... At least, it's better than JM1's 15, or even worse, Jet Rider's 10... Now, JM2124 is a different thing... Completely different, I might add. The key to success in JM2124 is a mix of 3 and 2. While you have a lot of turbo, the tracks are so huge that learning to manage it is as hard as in JM2. The physics are also the complete opposite of JM2. While in JM2, getting some air would slow you down and you'd float, in JM2124, the gravity is so intense (on heavy bikes, on light bikes it's more like JM1&2) that it actually speeds your bike up whenever you take off the ground. Another similiraity with JM2 in JM2124 is that you are actually losing more speed in turns than JM3 (less than JM2, but it's still pretty noticeable), so you have to learn to boost through and out of them as well. Also, in JM2124, you can actually control where you're going to land by moving your bike in mid air, which will make it actually go where you want it to go (it's not just complete calculations before doing a jump, you can correct your angle while in the air, but also mess it up sometimes XD). [...] If you ever get around to JM2 I'll be very eager to see how you affect the bikes then...it becomes a bit more extensive in that game. Yeah, I tried to beat Slickrock Gorge's record for days and even weeks. I got to the point where I was perfect everywhere... Except in the freaking tunnel. I believe my closest time to the World Record was something like 2:29, but that was once, the other times I was all around 2:33. JM2's physics are the hardest to master in my opinion, maybe 2124 can be as hard than 2, I don't know, but out of the original 3, JM2 is certainly the hardest game to master of them all.
