Nice drawing toxik and sweet collection as well. I might take up drawing. I have to take a drawing class for my graphic design major. Never actually drew. When I was in elementary school I briefly used to trace Pokemon from a Pokedex book I had. Sometime in middle school I learned to copy by sight for a while. I had a awesome copy drawing of Lugia and Ho-oh. I even colored it. It was sweet. But that is as far as my drawing ability ever went. I'm kicking myself for never seriously taking up drawing when I was younger.

I would draw a lot when I was younger, but I fell out with it because I got frustrated. Now that I'm going to have a lot more free time I'm going to get into it again. I want to put everything I have right now into game development. Sadly drawing is a big part of pixeling and right now I draw like a 12 yearold haha.

And Nice collection Toxik. Looks like my room when I was younger. Now I can't really stand a mess.

I'd love to see your CD collection there, Toxik...I see Samon and that's enough to catch my eye haha. I got more then those two stacks but it's mostly thrash and other random stuff- i only have some nwobhm - i know you have way more of that era so i'd like to see your collection i mean don't you have a Vardis album on Vinyl that's sick Man, are we clones or what? LOL XD I think I became a real hardcore/cult gamer some months after getting Snake Eater. Since then I've played most other Hideo Kojima games (LOVE Snatcher, Policenauts and Z.O.E.), completed my LoK collection (Soul Reaver 1 is also my favorite, alongside Blood Omen 1, VAE VICTUS!), and met the Katamari series. The first time I ever played MGS and LoK was when I was 3 or 4 years old, in the demo disc (Interactive CD Sampler Disc Vol. 8) that came with my brothers' PlayStation (aah, the nostalgia *-*). But I still didn't play R.A.D., unfortunately =/. My set up is also a mess, but I put most games in disc bags. It's a pain to find the game I want to play, though. I have a drawing notebook which I used for Arts classes in 8th grade. I took out the shitty ones which I did in school, and now I use it to draw my favourite characters, but got only two drawings until now (they're kinda looking good, but nothing professional). I planned to draw more in my vacations, but they end today and I didn't draw anything new in it, LOL. haha yeah guess we are clone gamers on 2 different sides of the world, i have to look up ZOE,policenauts, snatcher now since now i know that hideo worked on them. You should Definitely Look up RAD like most games it gets bit repetitive and there's 50 missions but the story is pretty interesting- i mean the story isn't Mind blowing but it still desersves some attention, And yes me too i go through long periods where i don't draw and then i get back into it and then i stop, cause it can get real time consuming Nice drawing toxik and sweet collection as well. The only art class i ever took was in High School my freshman year because it was a requirement- The thing about me is that i need to be alone when i'm working on something and if people are around or if i were to choose to do this for a living i feel like i'm constantly being judged so that only ruins my cool- and i know that going into art you have to face alot of harsh critics, but yeah man take up drawing like in anything in life practice makes perfect just give it everything you got i also have a friend that's going into graphic design he's going away pretty soon i think to Fullerton over there in Los Angeles I would draw a lot when I was younger, but I fell out with it because I got frustrated. Now that I'm going to have a lot more free time I'm going to get into it again. I want to put everything I have right now into game development. Sadly drawing is a big part of pixeling and right now I draw like a 12 yearold haha. ------- And Nice collection Toxik. Looks like my room when I was younger. Now I can't really stand a mess. oh i thought that the Art and actual Coding of a game were 2 seperate things but im not sure what pixeling is, sorry don't know alot about computers. but hey didn't Dave Jaffe come up with twisted metal with just a bunch of scribbles on a white board. Drawing for extended amounts of time can get frustrating cause you just want to see the finished product already or you just want to put in the color already. When i'm a bit older i'm gonna have it all nice and organized- with all my systems nicely ordered ps1 and ps2 on top with probably the GameCube on the bottom- hopefully i'll get my hands on a playstation Yaroze by then, i was thinking of getting it to make a Jet Moto tribute game but the amount of work to make an actual game is Absolutely Enormous for one person, and then i checked out what regular people were able to come up with and with what i discovered i was left disappointed- but i still want that awesome looking black playstation- the blue debug one too Edit: Just cleaning up toxik's multiple post to make things a little neater.

They are two different things, but when your a one man team you have to do it all. For the graphics of a 3d game most modelers use reference images or drawing (modelers being the guys who make everything you see on the screen be it the Character scenery or vehicle. Anything thats 3d.) They do this in two ways. One they look at the object someone drew and free hand it. Completely starting with nothing and turning it into that character or image. In my opinion you have to be very talented to do this. its not easy to do this way. Second way is to use reference images as a background in your modeling program and sorta trace them. This is my preferred method. now for a example of pixeling. This is Pixeling. Usually any 2d game uses this type of art work. Just like above you can free hand, but that usually takes years and years of experience. Most, not all, but most 2d games now use vector type graphics because it looks a lot cleaner, but thats another lesson. (p.s. Don't look up tub girl. It was a inside joke on another forum. I promise you it's something disgusting and you never want to see it.)

I see, so just looking at someone's handrawn image and then starting from nothing in a computer is hard to master, and pixeling is small simple movements in a basic 2D game?

Pixeling is the process of how the graphics are made.
Pixeling is to 2d what modeling is to 3d.
Sometimes I get on my rants and I don't come across clearly. lol. It's a bad habit.

LOL... I would like to learn 3D modeling as well. It must be very cool to "bring my imagination to semi-reality" =) Oh, there are so many things I would like to learn... drawing, 3D modeling, speaking japanese, a little bit of culinary, improve my guitar skills, etc, etc... too bad I'm lazy XD --- toxik87 , Hideo-sama also worked on the Boktai series (Action RPG), some Tokimeri Memorial titles (Dating Simulators), and some other less known titles, like "Penguin Adventure". His most recent work was in "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow", and currently he is working in "Metal Gear Rising", a third Z.O.E., MGS5, the misterious "Project Ogre" and the new Fox Engine. Unfortunately, I still didn't play any of these titles yet, except for "Antarctic Adventure", for the NES, which is a prequel to "Penguin Adventure", but without Hideo-sama involved.

i wanted to upload a better photo but my stupid phone isn't working with me and only one email went through i'll upload that one later. for the picture i used acrylic paint for the purple(i had to combine both white and purple for that and i had to get the right dose everytime cause acrylic dries fast) and prismacolor colored pencils those are really really good they write smooth, a sharpie, and the black prismacolor pencil sure helped to make it pop as well as the blue prisma background, and just a little teensy bit of white out
