This forum is a lot more active than I thought it would be, since it's still pretty small and has only 12 members, but I was wrong.
This is nice.

It took a while for it to gain momentum though, didn't it?
This board has been open for nearly 6 months, and I think only 1 other person joined when it first started.

Yea. I started the site in January and I sent invitations to barreld and krusty. They both accepted but I guess because of the slow activity krusty stopped visiting. It wasn't until March when more people dropped by. I was relying on my signatures and some posts I made at GameFAQs. Then in March I came across a Jet Moto group at Facebook. I posted the url and I believe it was Aaron who signed up and I think gamer3789 also. That is probably when the ball started rolling.
To be honest this is the first fansite I ever did alone, or at all. I've been part of other communities before that I helped start but this is somewhat new ground for me. The best way to say it is that "I'm a rookie driver on a long tough highway, I'm in control but my eyes are open wide looking at all directions, sweating, not sure of myself, trying to handle the situation."

You could get in contact with Krusty and bring him back, now that things are more active.

I'm glad you posted. I was so happy to meet other fans. I just wish the rest of the members on that group would come here.

I found this site through Aaron's facebook group. I almost leaped out of my seat when I found that group, THEN I saw the ad for this site and I fell inlove lol.

How I'm currently feeling about JMC:

I feel bad about it. The biggest problem is that I'm actually a socially anxious dimwit who starts communities and struggles to engage. Also been dealing with motivation issues for a while now. Still, I'm proud of what we uncovered and learned about these games. I'm happy it lasted this long!

The way I see it, JMC isn't really dead. The problem is, quite simply, that there's literally nothing to talk about, and even when there sometimes is something interesting once in a while, it might be weeks or months between each and every one of them, so most members just got bored and stopped visiting the site.
Also, this is a 22 years old series, and what we've done here is amazing, we've learned a lot about the games, made world records, championships, discussed every topic to death, modded the games, and I've even started a Jet Moto fan game with someone, which is actually functional, although early and is missing some features.
None of this would've happened without JMC, and every so often, old members log back in to check out what's new. It might seem like this site is on life support, and it actually pretty much is, but considering the series hasn't had a new installment since 99, it's to be expected lol.
Regardless, I'm still going to be visiting this site nearly every day and I expect I'll post some progress on the fan game in a few months when we get the bike physics completed with a track, and maybe AI (although at the earliest stage, we were thinking of maybe implementing the JM2 AI that's based off of gameplay recordings which speed up for higher difficulties, and replace it later), we should have a demo out as well. I'm just struggling to make some good looking and playing levels so right now, we're taking a short break from working on it, but yeah.

Yeah. If we could of come together as a community and keep events going I think we would of had better luck, but all that came about late stages. Doesn't help I failed at some of my ideas as well.
It's alright though. I'll still be here and when I can come up with a post, post it. Regardless if it's just us three.

Another socially anxious dip here. The fact that I even got on here at all, much less engage when I could, is a feat of... well. Something pretty powerful basically.
This forum is certainly up here and there, and down most of the time. But as Enigma said, it's to be expected when you base an entire forum around a game that hasn't had an entry in two decades. But we all have our things to do, some private, others (like Enigma and I) having to do with our shared franchise. And we do pop on in here from time to time at least. Me personally, I'm more engaged now with the forum now that I'm finally settled into my own place without having a family controlling my every minute of living, and I can make my own choices, so no more shy lurking around here, lol. It's the least I can do for the site after having a hectic 8 years on and off.
While I'm throwing another heartfelt paragraph around here, I want to personally thank Osky for starting this. I feel like I have a small family here, which for me is saying something, but more importantly if it wasn't for this site (besides the scant comments on the few Jet Moto videos on YouTube back in 2010) I would have probably thought I was the only one out of two people that knew of this game's existence. So... yeah! I'm gonna stick around here and appreciate this group. I mean, if other people can make fan forums about their favorite long-lost bands and catch people's interests, we can do it too, and have. Thanks again, friendos.
