today i experienced photoshop- my friend brought over his laptop and showed me a 2 hour tutorial-- but i think i'm just gonna stick to markers, colored pencils and ink haha-- my hand was cramping up and he said that's really common among people who make art digitally-- the mediums i'll use is just what i described right now, watercolor, and eventually oil

The difference between that and a mouse is incredibly huge. I'm making a comic using Adobe Flash. I was almost finished, but the save file somehow got corrupted so I have to do everything again from scratch.

yeah i was using a tablet and it's just the way it is with the way the hand is positioned when holding the stylus- that and i don't want to stare at a computer screen all day-- but now i know that making art digitally is tough haha- yeah i'm more of a person who needs to make the art with a real physical medium i guess you could say- i still have an airbrush that i eventually wanna use so i'll probably add that to the mix one day- i'm gonna get some calligraphy nibs soon too

Of course, pratice makes perfect, and I'm getting better, but it's hard not to take the "easy" way out and have infinite corrections, and help. I get what you mean with physical though, so satisfying

it's hard not to take the "easy" way out and have infinite corrections, and help. So true, on paper, every mistake I make is permanent. Even when drawing with pencils, the outlines of the mistakes are still visible after erasing them. On the computer, I just CTRL-Z until I get it right. But I find that I can make more interesting textures and effects on real paper than on the computer. I use Flash for my drawings because since it's vector based, it means I can basically get any resolution I want when I'm done. So right now, I'm making my comic in 1080P, but when 4K and even 8K become standards, I'll just have to upscale the original vectors to the desired resolution and no quality will be lost.

with pencil it's like on the computer it's all about the pressure- just draw a bunch of light lines and then choose the best one then just ink it with a dip pen- i just use the inexpensive speedball set, my favorite size is the 102 nib- it's a lot simpler than computer- just get use to doing swift lines-- here's a tip--- ya guys know when you're in class and if you have a pen maybe you'll scribble rapidly side to side and you get this cool "machine-like" zig-zag-- well that's the fundamentals to a straight line sequence in comic style, it's just i don't "zag" and keep it a line- then you could cross hatch at the point the other line begins-- and with that semi-fast motion you could do fat lines and such and again it's about Pressure!just use some multi-purpose computer paper and than if you want for final artwork use smooth strathmore paper. i learned this stuff from simple observation and practice- i suggest looking up the work of scott williams he's a great inker and the guys who did Danger Girl too it's a little trickier with a dip pen in the beginning but it's alot more Stable,Cleaner, and easier than using a sable brush
Enigma- your comic has something just keep developing it-- and i know what you mean about time consumption- that's why i don't wanna create something original at this moment because all my time will get sucked into it and i wanna raise my skills to a very high point before i do so

I made them at school when I had nothing to do. And I use the scribble technique 100% of the time when I'm drawing on a sheet of paper, it's really useful. On the computer, I can't do that, I have to make my lines from start to finish with a single pen stroke. But I got used to it pretty fast.

i was just studying right now and this happened- one of those spur of the moment kind of things i did it fast so yeah i wasn't worried about accuracy- i've been studying alot and comics and stuff i'm getting good at moving the body around this is just more stiff looking 'cause it was an anatomy session- yeah also been studying landscapes too- there's one thing a comic artist once said that "you gotta love doing backgrounds" too-- yeah dudes your're gonna get a Jet moto comic one day-- so here's the stunning first issue of The Max: origins-- when he still had a mullet! haha that's actually the hairstyle i got right now haha Attachments:

Here's a sneak peak- i was debating whether to show you guys or not- but since i drew that quick sketch of The Max it got me pretty excited and i came up with a bit of a story line- i haven't yet formed it fully but i don't wanna spill too many details just yet- so here's the title font of "The Max" and cover rough of 3 racers at the winner's podium-- the title font was inspired by the font of the Hercules comic( the best part of the series for me was really just the first Cover painting and font- i thought it was gonna be classier but it was just a bunch of gore) yeah i Love ancient Greek stuff and also a mix of the jet moto font of course-- in the future i hope Adonael will write some jet moto stories and i'll draw and ink them-- i'm just gonna take over the reins for this storyline for one issue and it's still gonna be left open if you guys wanna also write something down the line- yeah so here's 2 new characters, The Max's old rivals from the start of his career this takes place 15 years before the events of Jet Moto 1- i want you guys to experience the comic complete without any spoilers so i don't know when i'll start it but i Will Do it! Yeah i just got the Spawn compendium- it's the first 50 issues in black and white-over 1,000 pages- i'm gonna learn a great deal from it. The inking isn't as clean as it Seems! that gives me a little sense of relief haha but it's still insane what Todd McFarlane was able to pull-- And Finally after 2 Decades I finally own Doom-- it's exactly the 90's feel i like and it's satisfying to play- it gives me further inspiration for future artwork i'm gonna do. And i've gotten a couple of other games too, notably Cart World Series- that was the very first Playstation game i got right along with the system (some kid scratched my original copy my mom was very pissed) yeah it's actually still Fun just sometimes frustrating on the tight turns-- And i also got this apparently really rare Calligraphy fountain pen set from Platignum from the 70's/80's for a dollar- it writes So Smooth! they don't make them like they use to so i better take care of it- there's nothing else on the market right now that seems as good and affordable Attachments:
