Yeah, JM3 was a good game, but not a good Jet Moto one. While it became a major letdown on the series, 2124 looked way more faithful to the series. Guess we can blame 909 for killing the series, and they almost did the same to Twisted Metal on 3 and 4.
BTW, RedZone has only made some football games, and Sony would put Jet Moto on their hands. Now I'm almost sure I wouldn't want to see this one.
I wonder if Eat Sleep Play, Incognito, or even LightBox have the rights to the JM franchise now. They would sure do a nice job reviving it.

Yeah, personnally, I prefer Jet Moto 3 from the others because I like how much speed you can get, and all the challenging stuff. But I understand people that became real pros in the two first one and that know how to race, and then, you give them a completely different game, that even the controls are not the same, with a different gameplay! It's just not fair! Jet Moto 2124 had a similar gameplay, and a similar design. But if you notice, this game looks like a Jet Moto mix of all the three games. I say that because of the tracks in Jet Moto 2124, they have similar textures and design as Jet Moto 3, but also has a little something from the other games, the remade classic look of the series! And for RedZone, I totally agree! The design of the characters is a very important thing! As everything else, you can't make a futurist HoverBike game by Football game makers!

Guess we can blame 909 for killing the series No, that was that, or nothing, because in a playstation museum text, here is what I found : "...the Jet Moto designers didn't want to work on 3 or 4." And Jet Moto 3 was supposed to be like the 1 and 2 : "JM3 was designed to be played at a much much slower speed. Matt had tuned it very nicely so that it was quite a game of skill and that the AI had presented a very interesting challenge. It was much closer to JM1 and 2 in speed for probably 80% of our development. Sony insisted on "helping" us tune the game in the final few months before we shipped, they cranked up the speed and power of the bikes." So that was Sony that killed the series, not 989 Studios. It was stated some where that the sony president at the time saw no use for a Jetmoto like game as well.

Ah, yes, I forgot that it was Sony that took JM and TM from SingleTrac's hands. So 989 can't be blamed at all, as they did their best without the original game engines, and with Sony disturbing them in the process.
This reminds me of Eidos in the Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness and Soul Reaver cases. Also Titus' Superman 64, eew. -Eidos kept pressuring Core studios while making Tomb Raider 6. They had little money and little time because of Eidos, and then they were blamed for the quality of the game and TR was passed to Crystal Dynamics. -On Soul Reaver, the game was to feature more areas and one missing boss. Due to time limits, these were removed, and fortunately this allowed a bigger story expanding. The guys at Crystal Dynamics are the masters of adaptating stories. Soul Reaver wasn't even supposed to be a Legacy of Kain title in pre-production, this being after two cancelled versions of a sequel to Blood Omen. And Blood Omen 2 was made after what was left from Chakan 2 and another game. -Superman 64 is so shitty as it is because of how DC kept imposing rules to make Titus change the game, such as "Superman can't hurt any civillians".
