I'd have to say 2124 might of been a little further considering it doesn't use place holder graphics for the characters. Then again you look at the Jetmoto 1 video and it looks more functional, but that could be th case of them only showing you sections. In the game process it usually goes 1.Game engine 2.Place holders 3.Testing the Engine with said place holders Repeat step 1 and 3 Once game nears completion you start to implement the real graphics then one final bit of testing and tweaking before the game comes out. Thats just the jest of it. Theres a few more things I left out like planing and designing. I usually refer to it as this: Tech Demo Alpha Beta Late Beta/Gamma Gold

Bump.
So apparently there were originally going to be stadium-themed tracks, but were removed because they didn't fit in with the game's style. If they were left in, the game would've had 12 tracks, just like the early advertisements stated. I'm thinking that the reason for the somewhat weird rankings for some tracks is because of the removal of these stadium tracks.

Alright, crazy stuff I know, but that video at the top of the page was uploaded by me (Kevin_0089) and my bro (gamer3789) (NostalgiaGamesProd is our gaming account) . Glad to see other Jet Moto enthusiasts on this site (I joined when it was first launched in March of 2010). I was hardcore addicted to this game when I was a kid and still break it out even today. But yeah, that's crazy that you guys on here found my vid!

I don't know if anyone has seen these over at www.unseen64.net. Heres a few pictures of Beta Jetmoto from a article. These were supplied by a guy called Pcloadletter on the site.

Wave race seems to get compared to jet moto a few times, well we know which one reigns supreme

Funny thing is it was never meant to compete against Wave Race. It was originally a moto cross game, but single track needed to save polys so they took out the wheels which turned it into a hover bike game. So in short Single track got lazy and took out the wheels and made one of the coolest racing games of the ps 1 era.

Despite doing so much more than Wave Race, people still call it an inferior Wave Race clone from time to time.
... What.

I'll take a look in my demo discs collection... maybe there's a playable JM demo in one of them... I remember seeing some JM demos, but I already had played JM before, so I just skipped them and played the other games...
Hey, I think I already played JM with those plain-looking riders from the beta screens... I'm almost sure about this... now I'm definitely going to check my demo discs...
---
So, here are the results: Interactive CD Sampler Disc Vol. 3.0 - Had that video that mcniggleston posted. Plus, a secret screen with a code that lets you play Twisted Metal 2 multiplayer mode in a swamp Jet Moto track (not sure which of the three swamp tracks). Interactive CD Sampler Disc Vol. 3.5 - Same as above. Interactive CD Sampler Disc Vol. 5 - Had a playable JM2 demo. Interactive CD Sampler Disc Vol. 6 - Same as above. Pepsi Sampler - Same as above.
That's it... no luck here... =( probably I played the JM2 demo and thought that it was the JM1 demo...

I had the disc this video was on. It actually convinced me to buy the real JM1. So glad I did. Was a lot of fun.

I ain't really sure about this, do the bikes look different at all in this scan? I found this scan but ain't sure if there's any proto stuff in it.

Well, those blackwater falls pics are very scenic. The rest of the stuff still looks pretty PS1-ish.

Few years ago I contacted one of the former developers. The only major difference was stadium events that were removed to AI issues, such as the AI going backward on the track. I thought I shared this, but apparently I didn't. unfortunately said source didn't have any demo copies.
You can take this as a grain of salt if you wish, as I wish to not reveal who I spoke with to respect privacy.
