Hallo my fellow riders! I thought I would make a new topic now that I'm back.
Let's say Jet Moto were to get a Sonic Generations style remake where you visit old tracks that are 1. perfectly remade and 2. expanded upon into brand new tracks. With music and characters to go with it. What would YOU want to see brought back?
I personally would want to see what they could do with Aftershock, though with the recent tectonic and terroristic troubles the world has had, it may be too touchy a theme to work with. If they did, though, I would imagine that they would incorporate a lot more broken highway paths and expand on the ruined city sections.
I'm thinking as far as the jets themselves, they should be motorcycle-ish like they were in the first two games, but incorporate the rounded, winged futuristic elements of the JM3 jets.

Nightmare with updated graphics would be really BA.

I would love see the Stadium Tracks that never made it into the game, honestly. That and the beta tracks.

And a track editor.

^I dig that idea. A lot of parts in Jet Moto track have lots of similarities. Something like ModNation.

I second the stadium tracks and track editor idea. I know essentially nil about software and game development, so I wouldn't know how to make a game that holds true to the feeling of a game that is almost twenty years old and still takes full advantage of modern gaming technology. And from what I've seen, I'm not the only one. These would be my additions: -Graphical updates WITHOUT altering or ruining the art style. NONE of this bullshit where we make the game darker, grittier, and edgier. It's a fun, bright and colorful world of extreme sports. (Note, Nightmare is the exception to the rule. That's why it was so special.) -More characterization of the bike riders, but without a plot. Just something like victory videos that show their personalities and more pictures. Last thing anyone wants is slapping a plot into an arcade style arcing game. -The same physics feel as the first game, it was perfect. I never played jet moto 3 or 4, but I can't imagine they felt any better than numero uno. -Lastly, and most importantly, sex appeal. I suppose it's partly due to my age when that game came out, but one of the best things about Jet Moto were the character designs. Gotta have that.

I wonder what Nebulous would be warped into with PS3 level hardware capabilities....MOTHER OF GOD! I'd like to see an HD Nightmare, too. I imagine the metallic sections being VERY shiny and pretty.
More sex appeal? With that ragtag cast of men? On the other hand, taking Captain Ballard onto HD may end up making him into a Captain Falcon level god of sextosterone. He even has Captain in his name.

How can we make Wild Ride's love-muffins bigger...

I'd like to see the concepts for the 2124 tracks appear in-game. Maybe change their appearance to fit "present-day", but keep the same feel.

As for a plot, I'm thinking that it would take place a bit later then 2124's timeline. They would have finally developed easy and reliable time travel techniques, so they decide to go back to different point in Jet Moto history to race the old champions.
Characters from Jet Moto 1/2 would have heavier but faster bikes, characters from Jet Moto 3 would have lightweight bikes with great acceleration and characters from 2124 and Solar would have bikes that fit in the middle of that.
They could use concepts and track ideas from 2124 AND Solar in addition to re-imaginings of old tracks.

Last thing anyone wants is slapping a plot into an arcade style arcing game. That is not true. A plot in an arcade racer can fit perfectly if it's done well. It doesn't need to have cutscenes, just a text paragraph explaining the story of the game for those who are interested in it. Really, it can even make a game better. I personally always wanted to know more about the Jet Moto world and the games never really explained anything, especially with Enigma (god dammit Enigma, y u no make sense!?) which always let me wonder why he was what he was...
