I played this game for the first time on a Playstation demo disc. Now Blast chamber is a fairly simple game. The goal is to capture the crystal and bring it to your goal to extend your "dead clock", or place it in your enemies goal to decrease their time. Once your clock reaches zero, you explode. The reason behind this is your suit is strapped with explosives and the only way to survive is to extend your timer.
There are three game modes. Free for All, in which up to 4 characters battle for the crystal and who ever dies the lest wins. In eliminator mode the concept is the same except when you die in this mode it is for good. The last one standing takes the win. Now in solo survivor you tackle a chamber by yourself and figure out various puzzles to get the crystal to the goal and progress to the next stage.
The controls for Blast chamber are fairly simple. You have all four normal directions (up, down, left, right.) Diagonal movement is included. Then you have only to other buttons. X for jump and Square to shove.
Shoving is one of the few ways to get the crystal from another opponent. You can also do this by killing them with traps or rotating the stage.
The rotation of the stage seems to be the biggest feature of the game. You'll need to rotate the stage to prevent fellow players from placing crystals in your, or their goals.
Despite this games very simplistic game play I still enjoy it very much so today. The Playstation and Sega Saturn versions support up to four players. The Dos version only supports 2.
The version I'm reviewing is the Playstation version.
