The vocals suck haha. No just kidding. How much of that did you actually do dude? That's pretty sick. I feel a little out of place giving any "constructive criticism" because I don't know much about making music. But, since you asked, my favorite part was the chorus (I like anything I can bob my head to). The only part I wasn't a huge fan of was the part leading into the chorus..."seven rings in hand speed through nights" yada yada yada. It's well put together n all but that just kind of reminded me of "The Breakfast Club" scene where everyone's doing their 80's movie dancing. But if this is for a Sonic game it really works. Other than that I would just recommend starting the intro with an instrumental that leads into the chorus rather than doing the chorus from the get go. BTW the solo at the end was awesome.

I arranged, performed all the instruments (the drums were programed), mixed and mastered the whole thing. It was written by Steve Conte for the game Sonic and the Secret Rings. The part you mention as before the chorus (in my head it is the chorus. The other part is what I call the turn-around) was mostly focused on the layering of multiple guitars playing multiple parts. I was thinking about starting with a drum-fill, but I couldn't come up with anything that didn't just sound like someone bashing drums with no thought of the song. Once again, thanks for your input!

No prob. Yea I guess it's the "turn-around" that I really like then. But for that intro, I was just thinking something like starting out with the instrumental of the turn-around and then bring in the vocals later.

Something about With Me seems kinda....off... How so? Everything seems to float in and out of sync with everything else. It's the drum beat I notice most, though. Mabey something is at a slightly different tempo?

I had the same responce at the Sonic Paradox forums. The drums are perfect (yay for programed drums). Basically, the guitars were done in one take, due to me not enjoying overdubs. But the more I listen to it, the more I hate it. I will redo them when I have time. Thanks!

And it's no problem. It's always a great thing when my super-enhanced ear for Sonic music can be used for good.
