Hey guys I've been practicing for the rally and I'm struggling with the AI (specifically master AI). I just can't break through most of the time. Got any tips?

yeah exactly Claudio, that's what i'd say Tap it right from the get go- i break from the pack early on, later on you really get a feel for quickly double tapping and when to tap it once- like in mach schnell right after the brown second cave with the bottomless bit in the middle and then there's a bunch of large pieces of broken land/snow pieces- you realize that skipping/jumping to the bottom pathway leading to the checkpoint it's better to double tap than too hold it- you actually move faster than holding it, if you hold it most likely you'll see yourself plummeting down(If your at the very edge of something in any track)- the thing about Mach is that in that certain area i usually end up doing something different each time i get to that point. but anyway Tap turbo right from the Beginning to break from the pack and Get out of there way i don't bump into them even if i'm heavier cause if you bump them on purpose than your sacrificing your own speed

Hey guys I've been practicing for the rally and I'm struggling with the AI (specifically master AI). I just can't break through most of the time. Got any tips? I'm assuming you're talking about the very start of the race. My method's a little different from what toxik has described (at certain tracks anyway). I was workin on my starts yesterday at each track to figure how to break through and get out in the open. At many tracks you just wanna gun the turbo. Nebulous and Nightmare for instance I just just bolt straight out of there holding turbo. It uses a little more than if you tap the turbo quickly several times but you will accelerate faster and better avoid contact. Also Joyride and Cliffdiver it should be easy to stay away from contact initially if you just gun it. Other tracks where the AI makes a turn at the start it's a little trickier to find your way through. If I don't think I can make it through right off the bat I'll rapid fire the turbo (maybe even wait a fraction of a second to do it) to preserve a little, get a comfortable spot, and then just make my way through the field as I go.

Yes! This helped a lot. I was kinda doing a turbo thing every start but this time I did it more without hesitation and I'm breaking out of the pack more and more.
Had my best practice run so far. ^_^
