I sent an e-mail message to Laura to see if she knows anything about the secret tracks and characters! I really hope she responds and knows something about it! If she does, I'll post my conversation here.

Laura told me she dosen't know. However, she knows Matt Case, the guy who made the secrets and the characters of the game. She said she contacted him and she's going to see what she can do so I can ask him all the question that bothers us! I'll wait and see what happens.

Aaron sent me the game's soundtrack. Surpisingly, two other soundtracks unidentified are in the files. I know exactly for wich track they are. One is for Pacific, the other is for Neo Rio. Two tracks found in the game's data, two soundtracks. That makes prefect sense! Maybe those tracks are playable with a cheat code. I'm still waiting for Matt Case to respond, if he does, maybe he's going to explain it to me and I can tell you guys!

I may have found a way to load the extra tracks. Instead of trying to load the Pacific level as a separate track, I tried loading this in places of the Atlantis II level and something loaded. It seems to be a variation on the Atlantis track, with a different route. If this is so, it may be that the other two are variations as well and may be playable. I've had to hack the entire ISO rather than a single file, but here're some images: I'll have a look at making a code, rather than having to change the entire game. EDIT: No luck on loading the other 2 tracks, or getting a code to load the Pacific track (if that's what it is). If you want to load the altered level, you need to open the entire disc image in a hex editor, then do a search for "ALT_NEW". Change this to "PACIFIC", save the file and load up the game. When you choose the Atlantis level, it should be the new version. If anyone has any problems, let me know.

Take a look at this. Dosen't it looks similar? This IS the old Atlantis! That's so awesome that you got it to work! It's the biggest discorvery in JM2124's history!

Found another one. I figured out why the X_Test level wasn't loading, then used the hex editor to change the offending code to load something that actually exists. As the name suggests, this is a test area. There's no track, and the AI is non-existent. There's a variety of different terrains, probably to test the game's physics. Not that you can ride on forever, as there are the usual boundaries. To get to this level, you need to open the game image in a hex editor, then do a search for CREST_RA. Replace the first instance with CRYS_COM, save the game. Load up the game and use the Level Select code (0x00010038) with a value of A (Decimal value of 10) to load the test level. The sound is going to be wrong, as the hex editing changes the sound file the level uses. As the original file does not exist, it prevents the level from loading. This method of hacking may make the other unused levels playable.

That's so cool!!! Try to make Neo Rio playable as well! I'll add this to the rom with the original Atlantis II on the rom links thread!
EDIT : Ah it only works by loading it with a cheat code... I'll tell people to do it! AND BTW.: The sound is alright for me... I don't know what you're talking about...?

I think if they don't load, it's to prevent us from loading them! The creators must've locked these tracks in there after they knew they wouldn't put them in the game by modifying some of the data!

Would it be possible to edit the game with hex to make it always play a certain track like the cheat code?

I've tried a few things, but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing that. As for the other levels, I think the Pacific level is really the old Atlantis level. Which leaves NeoRio. This level seems to have far fewer files than the others, so it may have been in a very early stage of development. I'll see what else I can find, as it seems to refuse to load due to a missing file. If I can find a way of getting it load another file in its place, it may work.
EDIT: I don't think the NeoRio level is viable, as it seems to have mostly sound files. No textures or image files like the other tracks. Oh well, two out of three isn't bad.
There is something called X Puzzle, which is listed among the level files. Not sure what that is.

DUDE!!! By searching in the game's files, I found out a track called atlan_2... That's what I mistaken for atl_2!!! It is the same as the pacific track but more complete! There are barriers on the bridge, flashing signs with cooler blue arrow design and you can actually see the underwater tunnel before going into it!!! To play it, you must replace ARC_CAN or MERCURY by ATLAN_2 and run it! THAT means that they actually added more details into it and were going to name it Atlantis II, the new Alantis being just plain Atlantis! So we got Pacific, the original Atlantis II and Alantis II, the new revamped version! I'll add it to my rom download! Also, Neo Rio means New River in portugal so it gives an idea of what it is!

Hey there dr_kirk, I found a couple of things ressembling tracks having horizon.something and all the files that a track must have but I'm missing space to replace the track's name by these ones, can you please tell me how to get more place to write it? Because each time I press space it only replace something by the space, it does not actually create one...
