Hello, everyone! I got the mojo back in the game and I am currently working on a special carset for Grand Prix 3 which is focused on Jet Moto 1. I have been making some first steps but for a completed carset it need quite a couple things done. First I'd like to show you how making a carset works.
TEAMS
As you can see here, these are the teams I made. Because each team can have only two drivers, I made two of each team. But in Jet Moto 1, each team has 5 members. So I created an additional team named 'Red Bull', where 1 driver of each team is put, and for that I am kind of thinking which driver would fit best. Currently these are: Irons, Gunner, Shirow, Bomber. All vehicles have equal power and 0% chance of reliability failure to simulate Jet Moto with it. There is one empty team left, so what I should do with it, I'd love to hear.
PERFORMANCE
Right, here are the performances of each driver. I am trying hereby to mirror the drivers results of the AI. For example, we know Technician is the fastest, so he's up front. Mace is overall the slowest, so he is at the bottom. 'Range' shows probably how much the performances of the driver could change. I believe this was never 100% clear in the GP3 community... anyway, Rhino has quite a variety in results, I believe, so his for example is quite high. I could keep talking about this, but yeah. Also, I made sure the drivers are within 2 seconds average.
Lastly, This list is very likely a little inaccurate when it comes to performances. It is not entirely based on the FAQ, it is mostly my own approach on the AI's results and slightly of the descriptions of the drivers. I'd love to hear any improvements from you!
CARS
This is the hard part. I suppose you know how F1 cars look like. What you see here is the livery. Obviously, I have not done anything with this yet. None of the teams have done. They have the livery of the original game. I do not have a lot of time to do them all five, so if anyone likes to do one or two or three, it would be very appreaciated. The same goes for the HELMETS and COCKPITS.
ARTWORK
The artwork is at the driver select screen. It shows how the car, drivers and logo looks like. Up above on the right is an animation. Replacing it all with the correct drivers and team.
The Pit colors are already done by me.
At misc, we got not much special but the points system. It currently the same as in Jet Moto, but I might want to change it to the current F1 points regulation.
Altogether, this project does require a bit of work. If made some liveries in the past, but they were all done with Paint and thus the quality is a little low. If anyone loves to make an awesome livery/helmet design/cockpit/artwork, it would really help me. If you'd like to help, just send me a PM and I'll get the templates you need with additional information.
Any tips and improvements are also very welcome.
