JM 3 was Jet Moto without everything that made it great. The vehicles were like controlling small pieces of paper with giant motors attached. They went ultra fast, but not in a fun Burnout esque way, it was more like it was fast forwarding, like through a movie or something, just didn't look or feel natural. The vehicles dropped like boulders, you couldn't get any lift or make any cool jumps, what's the fun in that? In my opinion, it was just a terribly designed game, too many poor decisions went into the project and it really shows. I'm so sad right now. Am I the only person on this board who had no problem with JM3 whatsoever? As for controlling like paper and dropping like stones, I never once had this problem. I thought they moved with just the right amount of speed. And as for no lift and no cool jumps, I had the exact opposite experience. I was making cool trick and jumps non-stop in this game. I felt the bikes were way more stone-like in JM1 and 2. I was lucky if I got one decent backflip during a big jump.

I've been playing it a lot recently and I'm finding some real joy in the openness of the levels. I cheated and got a save of the thing beaten and I played Planet X. So hard but so open and interesting. My mind has been changing as I play it. There is something interesting about it I like.
But I still don't like the levels completely. Planet X is so big you don't know what direction your going. But I guess its about learning the tracks.

I like the graphics and the beauty of the tracks, Catacombs i just LOVE. It's just a shame they changed the way the game played.

Going off of ancient history, since I played it to death when it came out. I do remember having a lot of fun playing jm3, as much as I did the other 2. Don't really remember any thing that stood out as being bad, for myself at least...need to find a way to play it on the pc^^ so I can refresh my memory on it.

I just didn't find that it played like the other two jet moto games, it just wasn't a jet moto game to me. I've had some fun with it though, and I'm not saying people shouldn't like it.

I made a details page about JM3. I never did one because I had forgotten to. I don't know why I forgot. I think the day I was making the details pages I had to go out at the time and I forgot to make it.
Oh and I modded Aaron's poll topic title to represent the topic more accurately (and I didn't want two topics with the same name).

I played this game once. That's all that was needed to turn me off from it entirely.
About the lack of racers, what about JM2's Championship edition? While I can say that I'd prefer 10, the increase in smoothness made up for it.

^^ It certainly didn't make up for it imo. It was too fast and made the tracks a lot harder to ride, whilst making the game incredibly boring.

And that's why I still have Jet Moto 1.
Also, I agree with the lack of racers making CE more boring, but I liked the framerate increase and the faster gameplay. think that if we had the ten racers of JM2 with the smoothness of JM2 CE, that be the optimal combination.

They had to start from scratch, zero lines of code. The speed was faster then originally intended. They had the speed more akin to JM1/2 but "Sony" (not sure who in particular in Sony) decided to help out and cranked the speed.

I like Jetmoto 3. My only problems with it is it doesn't feel like Jetmoto and the handling. Sometimes I just can't keep off of the walls. I do think 989 did a good job from what they did though. In my opinion. It' just needed to be refined.

I remember playing on the ice stage (don't know the name), and I accidentally skipped checkpoints. I'll repeat that: I skipped checkpoints. Last time I checked, it was impossible to skip a checkpoint unless you tried to do it on purpose.

Yeah. The big loop turn on Khumbu Ice Falls. You have to slow down on that and take it around or you will hop past it every time.

I know that now, but honestly! If someone was playing the game for the first time, you'd expect them to at least be able to finish a green circle track without having to worry about missing checkpoints.
I guess this is what happens when you take a fast game and ramp up the speed to 11. It just gets a lot harder to control.
When combining the hard control with a course like Skypark...
