Discuss the most iconic JM track here.

I think I good heavy bike can be a better choice on this track because there are a lot of bumps. I figure if you have less lift you can cut through everything quicker.

I think the same way.
Also, though I like the track, I also despise it for scaring away people by making the game appear to be a Wave Race 64 clone. This was the only track featured in advertisements.

This was my least favorite. The waves just annoyed me.

This is actually one of my favorite tracks. Just classic. Love the music. Love the design. Love everything about it. First track of JM. First track I ever played. Nostalgia makes me love it. Even without the nostalgia-goggles on, I'd still love it though.
Perfect introduction to the game, to get gamers hooked, and give them a taste of things to come. Perfect beach bum music, with the little added strategy about navigating the waves and broken bridges.
A true classic!

I agree with both Aaron and brutalknuckles. This track is a classic and has become a favorite of mine, despite that I favor Slickrock Gorge for being a better starting track. And, of course, the waves are pretty damn annoying, especially in JM2, as I have noticed that they push against you and add some time onto the clock.

This track is too easy. I usually space out and enjoy the music. The way to get past the waves is to use a bike with lots of lift and hold down on the d-pad (speaking about the ps1). This also works on any jumps and will get you more airtime and distance from each wave.

The track is rather easy, but a true trademark to the game.
After all, the Jet Moto Theme (Joyride) was used as music there.
The scenery (I call it beach) is one of my favourite. It fits the track: nice climate, nice track, nice and easy...
Another good thing is that when you drive a heavier bike with shitty handling you won't suffer as much as any other track. it could be an advantage, in fact.
As for AI, they are too easy to beat. When I fight against them in a race, I can do this track in just under three minutes while they finish 20 seconds later.
Overall, Joyride is easy, but still fun and a classic track every Jet Moto ever should remember.

Well Joyride is one of my favourite tracks in Jet Moto 1, I like the PC version better tough because the waves don't affect you as much as in the PS1 version. As for the PC version, you get a higher framrate too. But as for the track, the design of the waves, the turns, the sand bumps and the highway pieces, it just makes it fun to play, no big deal, just messin' around in this track, being first.
