This topic everyone shares ideas for features and such for a future JM4.
CaMacKid's Career Mode
The fundamentals behind my Career Mode is that you control a team during a season and you're responsible for maintaining the team throughout the season. You maintain each bike to ensure they are running at their best for the races. Also you have to satisfy your sponsor's wishes. Ultimately you want to win races to gain points and earn money to maintain the team.
Races are done every weekend. When races come around your team competes in it and you choose what member of your team you want to race as. Winners of races are awarded a big check and points for both your team and your racers. Racers earn points for both laps led and position. It is possible that a team may win the season while none of their racers win the season. It is important that the team as a whole does well so more cash can come in for bike maintenance and R&D.
When it comes to bike customization and maintenance the feature is designed much like the game Armored Core's AC design system. Bike appearance can be redesigned. The color, shape (as long as it conforms to the weight of the bike), and other details. There are parts that can be switched around and tuned for improved performance. Remember, the racers have a preference so if you make the bike too light for a rider who is used to heavy bikes, the rider may not adjust well. So it is a matter of maximizing performance while conforming to rider preferences.
Another feature in my Career Mode is that the stories of each character are told through the first 3 seasons of Career Mode. Taking from Jet Moto 2124, a Jet Moto news network covers the seasons and once in a while interviews the racers. A more intimate talk show in the network deals personally with the racers. This show is a vital piece which goes deeper into the characters and their motives and personal stories. The stories for the teams racers change depending on what happens during those 3 years. If a racer wins the season their story changes to something related to defending their title and what it means for them personally.
