Another video game rant by me!
1nsane is a PC game Developed by Invictus and published by Code Masters in 2000. The game is basically a off-road racing game with open environments.
The game offers several modes. Such as:
OFF ROAD RACE
A hectic race through the gates. The first to reach the required number of laps wins. Mind you don't miss a gate, you can't score a lap until you've been through them all.
JAMBOREE
Find the active gate and be the first through it. As the gate is claimed it becomes inactive and another gate lights up. Follow the gate indicator to the closest active gate. The winner is the first driver to claim the required number of gates.
RETURN THE FLAG
Find the flag and keep it long enough to return to the bonus area. Receive points each time you get it back to the green square. The first to reach the target number of points - wins! Look out though, all the other drivers are looking to steal the flag from you and knock you out of the bonus area. Of course, turnabout is fair play.
GATE HUNT
There's only so many gates available in your area. You'd better be sure to claim more of them than anyone else or there'll be tears before bedtime.
GATE TRAIL
All the gates are active and you need to claim them all. Get through the checkpoints in any order first and you'll win. Look out for shortcuts that other players may not have spotted yet.
CAPTURE THE FLAG
Get hold of the flag then run, run like the wind. You get points for holding onto the flag and bonus points for getting through the active gate with it. But only one flag, lots of players, hmm... you do the math.
DESTRUCTION ZONE
Can you stay in the King Zone for long enough before you get mashed to a metallic pulp? The longer you're in the green circle, the more points you'll get. The first to the target number of points is King of the Hill.
And Free Roam.
I played the demo about 8-9 hours ago and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Made me purchase it off of gog.com. The full game is better than the demo. That is sort of common sense, oh well.
What I like most about this game is the cars physics and suspension. All the game modes are fun and there's 20 some odd vehicles. Each one unique in its own right, but me blabing about this game isn't what you wanna see. You wanna see gameplay right!? (if not, Why are you reading this?)
If you noticed the bouncyness of the shocks and how they act closer to reality it is because 1nsane uses soft meshes. which allows transformation of the meshes.
(Note: the map in the second video is a user map.)
Oh it also has a map generator in the game. If it's unlockable I don't know, but it can be activated via cheats.

In2ane was developed by Targem and published by Code Masters.
Insane 2 keeps some of the game modes from the original and adds a few new ones such as helicopter chase, where you follow a helicopter.
Now this game isn't exactly a "Insane 2" it is more like a new game. The games over all direction has become more arcadey and the physics and suspension seem to have been dumbed down to appeal to more people.
Now don't get me wrong. The game isn't bad by any means, just not as fun as the original for me. Not to mention the damage is dumbed down also.
Sorry for russian. The demo was only available in russia. (I got a hold of it though.) The full version is for sale to the us market over steam.
if you are interested in trying either of these games I can link you to the respective demos.
Overall I think 1nsane is a better game then In2ane. While In2ane isn't a bad game it didn't stay true to itself and feels closer to motorstorm than 1nsane.
Sorry I didn't rant about all of In2ane's features, but they are hard to come by. Not trying to be biased.
