Hmm. Tried both the save and the Profiles.ini? Well. I'll go back poking at it and see if I can put the peices together.

Yea I tried that just now and still nothing.
Just looking at the profile.ini files and they are exactly the same (in file size) and appear unedited.
Edit: Poking around, it appears that none of the files are edited recently at all. I saved like last week so I should be seeing something that was modified sometime last week and I got none. All of them have the date I installed JMPC or the date the file was made (back in 1997). SO... The saves are not in there but somewhere in the computer.
Meh no point in digging around the computer for the save. My bets is that it's in the registry.

It's the closets thing to not sending you my whole jetmoto file. It's EVERYTHING but the Shell file and it's only 7 MB. Edit:Oh, if the save name doesn't change try it anyways to check. Messed around with my registry. It is stored in the registry. I'm going to test a few things again before I waste anymore of anyones time.
PROFILES.ini runs the characters profile apparently. I removed this and the game freezes up on the select screen.
Rest of the "LOADSAVE" junk is just graphical stuff like CaMacKid said.
I pretty much got it figured out now. I deleted my jetmoto reg to find my save completely gone, then imported the reg back and got my save back. Whether or not this will work for everyone I do not know.

Sounds good. I mess with that sometime. I saw the registry entry too. But I just managed to finally unlock willpower and snow blind (woo hoo!) so I don't think I want to lose anything. Next stop Nightmare!
