I just made a big discovery... The PS1 renders a 3D scene into a 2D image and puts it in your screen to give a 3D impression! I used a kind of program to extract frames from DirectX games (DirectX plugin for ePSXe works) and it rendered a flat screen. Also, JM1, 2, 3 and 4 are all made out of triangles.

Nice. I never could get the models to rip. I wanted to use them as a point of reference.

Nice. I never could get the models to rip. I wanted to use them as a point of reference. Yeah, it rips everything on screen... Which is only what you see... The PS1 kind of renders 3D frames and converts them into 2D images that goes with the hud, which means by ripping off a scene, you rip off the hud and the 2D render of the track. Basically, see that as a projection of a camera recording in 3D onto a 2D environment. We can't rip the models of the tracks unless we get to get them directly from the .DMD files. I saw a post in a Twisted Metal forum that was able to extract and reinsert textured 3D models (.DMD for PS1 and .DPC for PC) from the game's files, in the PC and PS1 release of TM. And guess what, the files are the same for JM1&2 and TM1&2. So with that program I would be able to put my own tracks into JM1&2 and make a PC version of JM2 with the JM1 PC engine.

I started editing musics to make them more "Jet Moto" and put them in my game. Surprisingly, without the vocals and the context of the song and an edit, the FNaF song is pretty epic and, amazingly fitting for a Jet Moto track.

Hey, I just worked on vectorization of toxik87's drawing! I think it turned out pretty well in black&white. I still gotta add colors and shades, but here's the drawing without them :

Yeah it looks nice, good job enigma Thank's, I'm really more of a computer guy, I'm better at editing than at making images. Fun fact, this is the second drawing I've made in Adobe Illustrator.

Alright, I'm at school right now, but as soon as I get back home, I'll start learning Blender. I kinda saw what Blender + Unity can do in terms of graphics and it's pretty awesome! I also found out about tools in Blender that makes it VERY easy to make a track that follows terrain! I've read about how the Hoverbike Joust creator uses Blender to make the tracks, and it give a pretty awesome result! With the new physics I've figured out, it should be good to have smooth tracks... I'll probably completely abandon Spirit Canyon, Snow Ride and City Tops, as well as remake Laguna Dream. I'll also take a look at some of Barreld's old track ideas, I figured out there might be a few good ones I could make and integrate into JMG.
EDIT : Apparently ImageShack is being a bitch and redirecting me to an owl picture each time I click on one of Barreld's images... I guess all these tracks are not an option anymore...

*EDIT* Removed Spirit Canyon, Snow Ride and City Tops from the game's track list. Info on the cancelled tracks will remain accessible, but they will not make it into the final game.

Hey guys, I just wanted to update you on Jet Moto Galaxy's progress. I've started up a new project to test out new physics, camera and shaders. I also used the JM2124 heavy bike model that I made as a replacement for the old ugly beta bike.

Holy crap. That was amazing. I mean not polished of course but damn. I'd play that right now!
Keep up the good work. Hey maybe if you keep it going you can get greenlit on Steam?

About the Steam thing, that's exactly what I was thinking while I was in the bus getting back from school. But I'll wait until I get a full game (or at least a full beta) before trying to get it greenlit on steam. Besides, you make an important point, this track is extremely noobish and squary. The lack of polish in the game is... Well, it's pretty obvious. I'm currently working on a dirt bike arena track in Blender to test out the physics, once I finish it, I'll put a new build together and release it so you guys can try it out. The most important thing I have to do is modify the physics, they're not really good right now. I mean, the hover and steering is fine, but the way it falls in the air is not that good : You fall very slow and you can still make it go forward in the air. I hope I'll get around the man scripting errors I get when I modify the code, even though I have a rough idea on what to do, I still get errors that are annoying to fix, but then again, I never learned any coding language so, the learning curve is pretty high.

Ah crap, I have a slight problem... Even though I finished the Dirt Arena track, I can't get the textures to properly export and show up in Unity. Y u do dat Unity? ;_;
