Hey, seen this forum a number of times over the years, but now finally decided to join as I just noticed something quite odd when looking at the Interactive CD. Vol 5 Sampler version. Now I used to have this CD because we got a PS1 back in late 1997, for Christmas, and this disc came with it, and this particular game was on there. However, when looking back on it, I have noticed that the version I keep seeing uploaded onto YouTube is quite different from the version I had, and I wonder if someone else remembers it the way I do, and if there is another type of Interactive CD type out there.
So looking at it, I notice it starts out in the opening, and title screen, with the theme song you find in the final version. The version I had did not play any music here. I also notice there are different sound effects from what I remember, as the version I had, I'm pretty sure, had the sound effects featured in the final version.
Another odd thing is that, the version I keep seeing uploaded onto YouTube, at least in one player mode, only allows you to play as The Max, while the version I recall allowed you to also play as Vampeera, so you had two characters rather than just one. I also remember the character portraits being the same as the final, showing only a closeup of their faces, while this demo reveals a bit more of The Max's photo.
Much like the demo we had, it also only features Meltdown, except I actually remember it being called Meltdown like the final game. But this version calls it Volcano.
There are a few extra things I don't exactly recall seeing, but that could just be chalked up to me not remembering it as well so I won't talk about those.
But yes, anyone else remember this?
