This is it guys . I've been working hard on my new update! I've edited some text of the game as Tetsujin's bio and other cool things like the name of the categories in season mode. The most hard part was to edit images! This is freaking hard when you don't know how bitmaps (.bmp) files work! It seems easier than it is, you can trust me! Ok, so, basically, the most changes are the credits (i've added your names CaMacKid and MateusAuri in there, find it in setups -> infos), the SpeedoMeter, and the track descriptions wich are now custom descriptions i've made myself. I also changed the actuall title when it shows Jet Moto 3 Press X by adding a little Enigmod logo unside. So take a look at the video, download the rom (link in the description), and tell me how you find it and you can suggest me ideas! www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wokScAzYJs&feature=youtu.be

Question. How are you editing the textures for the bikes? Are you using photoshop?

No, I actually can't edit the bike's textures, I've just swap Tetsujin's and Convict's by Technician's texture. I Don't know how to edit them, since they are in .TEX format.

Congratulations, I think you may have just made the first-ever Jet Moto mod.

Yeah, thank's, I've already published another older version, but that one's better, from far! And I think I will be the last to edit Jet Moto 3 lol!

There are some tools around the internet that can convert TEX files into BMP. Don't know if they work for every TEX file though. Perhaps they only work for a certain game or engine, perhaps not. You should check it out. =]

I think there might be a possibility that tex files could open with Paint Shop Pro. PSP was around back in the 90s. Gotta get myself a copy and see what happens. EDIT: Nope. Doesn't work.

Ok, I don't know if it was that type of file, but, I downloaded Jet Moto PC recently and I found files in similar names, I would have been able to edit them, however, they were only the game screens graphics, like the title screen, etc...

I've been looking into this since Enigma peeked my interest. .TeX files are really complicated. The only converter that I've seen is for unix and in no way user friendly. Second off, The PC jetmoto uses Zsoft PC paint brush (.PCX) which is a dos based program. I have a theory about the PC version so I'm going to poke around and see what I find in the files and what not. I'm sure the actual textures themselves are housed in a different file formant that .PCX Edit: All these are secret credits. I'm sure everyone has seen one of these:

I've seen em. Also I think on JM2 there is one with who I think is Brian Wilkem (producer for JM2) on a Jet Ski with a Jet Moto decal (might have been shopped on).

The .TPC files seem to host most of the skins and the .DCP? Files are models. I was going to ask Jay Barnson about these files, but the forum for his site seems to be down.
I tried googling some stuff, but I just get results that have nothing to do with the extensions Sony used.
If I recall wasn't there a program that could open TPC? or was that only TIM files?

I dunno. I'm on my new desktop and I still haven't moved in so to speak so all my Jet Moto and my tools are on my laptop. WHen I get on it later I'll give it a look. Quite frankly, I don't think we'll get far. I think most of these formats are only readable through proprietary software Sony uses (or used since this is 1999 software here).
edit: are you thinking of PSPicture? Because that can read most TIM files I think.

I checked the JM3 files, and it had TEX files indeed. Though I only found converters for Final Fantasy VII and some IO Interactive games. I tried to use the FFVII one, but didn't even open in my computer. But I don't even certainly know which file is what in there, besides the folders' names.

I have the ability to get a hold of the PS SDK, but that really doesn't help with opening already created files. The SDK uses the basic .TIM and DMD files that most early PS games and PS engine games use.
JM 3 uses it's own engine which I suppose leads to them being encrypted into TEX files.
I'm currently messing with Jet Moto PC which is why I'm running into such foreign formats. (.TCP, .DCP, .PCX and .PAC) Which all have "Programs" that have nothing to do with game development. So I assume it is a custom format. (With the exception of .PCX)
I'm doing some digging around though. See if I can't find anything.
